As we enter 2025, we’re excited to share our progress on the BEngel Wild West chapter and offer a glimpse of what’s to come.

This dreamworld sequence brings fresh roles for each character, offering players a new lens to explore their personalities and struggles:

• Tim steps into the role of a saloon bartender, piecing together clues to navigate the town and free Chris.
• Jeff, as a stable hand, provides steady support and faces decisions that reflect his real-world conflicts.
• Chris is imprisoned as a Native American, embodying his isolation and need to rely on others for rescue.
• Marvin, a Native American chief with a bounty on his head, is relentlessly pursued by the town sheriff. His arc is pivotal to the emotional and narrative stakes of this chapter.
• Elijah is the town’s undertaker, whose role mirrors his real-world melancholy and subtle influence on the group’s actions.
• Noah, cast as the sheriff, brings tension and danger to the dream world, with his hell-hound Dobermann adding an ever-present threat.

As we all know, no Western is complete without a poker game. The stakes are high and come in the form of items of clothing that the players can lose. How could it be otherwise? Attached, you will find some early screenshots of this mini-game. There is a lot of polish to be done, but I am happy to say that the base game mechanic already works.

As I finalize the Wild West chapter, I focus on refining the poker mechanics to ensure they capture the strategic and thematic weight they deserve. The chapter’s visual design is also prioritized, concentrating on the dusty, sunlit saloon and Noah's ominous presence as sheriff.

Beyond this chapter, BEngel will continue to explore the interplay between its supernatural and human elements, with new twists and challenges awaiting the characters. The journey through the Wild West dreamworld is just one step in a larger narrative, and we’re excited to share more as the story unfolds.
